Thunder and Lightning and pouring rain!!! Yay!! I do love the loud, violent prairie weather... especially tonight as I'm forced to take pause and possibly get some sleep before the big, crazy circus act I shall call "Loading every single thing left in the house either in the trailer, the Love Machine or Dad's Van (destined for goodwill)" That's a lot. Lots of table legs to remove. Lots of dishes to wash. It's nuts. I'm glad for the break right now. Plus Thursday's a big DVR night.
I've got the theory talked out, Thanks Eric! I've had two weeks. I had one hell of a pity party for at least 11 of 14 days. Hey, dancing with the devil required I gave the hades tango we danced, my full attention and appreciation. Tomorrow will be Craziness Day 3. It's better to wallow and be done with it, leaving three days of total manic insanity than to avoid the need for self analysis and have 14 days of crazy depressed stress, followed by the inevitable analysis anyhoo! Much better arrangement, if you can pull it off -- can I?? We shall soon see!!
Folks are coming over in shifts tomorrow. I figger I can get every single person to carry at least one box at least as far as the garage. That's a lot of boxes, especially if I call and invite more!
The plan is still to drive short bursts of miles; different than my usual tac of hardcore rabid arrivals. When I take off from here (Friday is the plan; I've paid rent til midnight, I may just stay on principle!!) I'll only be going as far as Rapid City. I'm counting on the lovely hospitality of Tribe Buxcel. On Sunday, now don't be jealous, I'm going another 500 miles to Deb Lewis' house. She's in my cell phone now. Then after tearing myself away from her wonderful company and fresh coffee on Monday, I'll head up and over the mountains for the last 800 mile leg.
**At the U-Haul place today, where I got a trailer -- good thing you're sitting down -- advertising Independence, IA "Old
Threshers Reunion" and a picture of an old red tractor!! Where they got all the taillights to magically work (spit's magic innit?) and advised me on the weight distribution for optimum handling at late 20th century speeds on mountain roads. Yesterday a guy gave LM a good look over and gave me his envious spiel. I reveled in it.***
I may stay somewhere on the downhill side, past Idaho, though I don't have any direct contacts to that Spokane-ish region. And that is so ding-dang close, and it's all a nice downward slope from there to Corvallis anyway, and the sooner I'm in Oregon, the sooner I'm done pumping gas every 100 miles (still driving, still stopping, still paying, just no pumping!). We'll see how the adrenaline/ darkness/ rain/ traffic factors play out. Tuesday is the early guess, Wednesday is the reasonable, late guess. Wednesday we get our address! Wednesday, the 10th of October, 2007, our Home shall be officially established. The forwarding notice is in and I'll probably have mail waiting for me, yay! 161 SW Wake Robin Avenue, Corvallis, OR, 97333. How cool is that?!? All the way cool!
Speaking of cool, here's another picture of my adorable son in Joanna and Jason's wedding:

Hayden's very excited. His attitude has come at a great time, exactly on time and perfect. Like me, he waffles and wavers between the thrill of the new and the comfort of the old. Realizing what a process it is for the both of us and being the support we'd like has given us support in one another. Not taking it personally really makes a difference. Wow. I
knew that. Now, I
know that. How lucky am I? All the way lucky.
